Tesla has opened its robotaxi app to the public, a significant step in its autonomous driving strategy. The app, now available on Apple's App Store, allows users to join a waitlist for the driverless ride-hailing service. Previously limited to influencers and early testers in select U.S. regions, the broader rollout signals Tesla's readiness to scale operations.

The iOS app enables ride requests, trip management, and in-vehicle climate/entertainment control. An Android version is forthcoming, further expanding access. Tesla's current fleet relies on Model Y vehicles with Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, though human safety monitors remain required under Level 2 autonomy classifications.
